Sue, today is not easy to find books that require reflecting! Many are written to entertain and they are forgotten
very fast. On the other hand, there is too much stress in life and many readers don’t want to read “serious” books.

I think that Burke and you have different definitions of “good men”. However, you are right
in a sense that “the meek” easier survive tyrannies.
Its in the DNA…… the heroes are often fatalistic while the slimy cousins slip away in the dead of the night…..
