Blogging = creativity + sharing = joy

Below are one of my favorite quotes and a photo I was lucky to shoot in Hollywood (Florida). I hope that you’ll like them.

What sweetness is left in life, if you take away friendship? Robbing life of friendship is like robbing the world of the sun. A true friend is more to be esteemed than kinsfolk.

Life, days and nights

Last two years were rather difficult for me. For some time I lost interest in blogging and I even stopped learning painting.

Fortunately, days come after nights.

Below is my first painting of 2017.

Ultimate thing

I know that books seem like the ultimate thing that’s made by one person, but that’s not true. Every reading of a book is a collaboration between the reader and the writer who are making the story up together.

John Green

Not long ago I read a book “Change of Pace” written by Fia Essen. I follow her blog (https://essenfia.wordpress.com/) from moment of its discovery by me and I enjoy her style of writing.

The book led me from New York where I live last 40 years to an island that I’ve never visited. It showed me people of several generations with all their ups and downs, with tremendous capacity for love and friendship.

These people were real for me. They learned how to overcome all difficulties, how to build their happiness.

I am a speed reader from childhood but I often read books slowly to enjoy them fully. I read the book and lived with people in it.

Surely, I recommend you to read “Change of Pace”.

Today Fia notified me that her new book “Ariel” is already on Amazon.

Here are links to it:

Amazon – http://www.amazon.com/Ariel-Fia-Essen-ebook/dp/B00VGVZGCO

Goodreads – https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25264738-ariel

I will start reading “Ariel” tonight. Hope you’ll read both books too.

Hollywood gallery

This morning I learned how to create a gallery of photos on this blog.

I created the page “HOLLYWOOD GALLERY” and placed there selected photos from the Media library.

Please take a look and let me know if everything works properly.

Thank you!

I am a history

I found out that many of the followers of this blog do not know how to find what they are interested in among almost 800 posts of the “Pursuit of Happiness”.

Actually, it is very simple if you know meaning of pages on the WordPress platform.

A header of each post includes a photo and a black field below it. On the black field there are words that express different topics (humor, travel, my writings, artists, etc.).

When you click on any topic a page appears. Sometimes there is an introduction to the topic. In all cases a page has links to all posts on this topic in the blog.

For example, if you click on words “My writings” on the black field on the header you will get exactly the same result as if you click on “MY WRITINGS” here.

You’ll get an introduction to my writings and links to many, many posts.

You will understand my words “I am a history” and will find life stories, fiction, humor and tragedies, book reviews and other interesting information.

Try it and I guarantee you compensation for your time if you are not satisfied!

Please don’t forget to let me know that you like my writings.

Best to you!

To my friends!

Dear friends!

This blog started in October of 2013.

I never expected that blogging will bring so much joy to my life.

At 79-80 it’s not that easy to meet 3,000+ talented people of all ages from many countries and learn from them, enjoy their creativity, kindness and friendship.

I am glad to know you, to see your posts daily, to travel with you, to read your writings, to enjoy your photos, to suffer and to overcome with you.

Happy New Year to you and your loved ones!

I am very grateful to everybody who created and maintains WordPress.

Happy New Year to you and your families! You are builders of happiness!

In 2014 I learned more about blogging. In January I started to paint using PC paint program. In June I got my first digital camera and after more than 20 years’ interval started shooting what I liked.

I learned a little about painting and photo processing programs.

With your help I overcame my fear to write in English.

i even wrote several book reviews. You can read one of them HERE.

I liked “Shadow of the Raven” by a fellow blogger Millie Thom very much.

I hope that in 2015 I’ll be able to share with you new posts that you’ll like.

The very best to all my followers everywhere this year!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 38,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 14 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

I received an email with a post of Michael Frye. I follow his blog with great pleasure from the moment I discovered it.

Enjoy!

Photos of beautiful women.

The spring started in many countries and brought some rather strange events to this blog.

For example, on 1/16/2014 I published the post PHOTOS OF MAREK PALACKA and asked my followers to tell me who is the most beautiful of the four girls.

The post was not popular in January. It is possible that majority of my followers were digging themselves from snow at that time. It is also possible that all women who follow the blog decided to ignore this post in protest to my question.

However, everything changed on 3/14/2014. In the morning I received a thank you message from Marek Palacka and I told him that I’d like to post more of his photos and asked him to give me a link to his biography.

Then the real action started. During last three days my blog received 227 hits from Slovakia and 186 hits were to the post “Photos of Marek Palacka”.

It looks like after long cold winter guys in Slovakia awakened and started appreciate the beauty of their girls.

However, there are many beautiful women in other countries too. You can find some of them in the following posts:

There is nothing else I can do!

Very often my days start with surprises.

I can awake with new feelings or new ideas, I can switch on TV and see something that requires me to react to it in some way. I can start reading emails and immediately find not just one but several emails that answer questions that I have or at least show me where I can find answers..

Last two months I noticed that I like very much photos of full Moon on the dark sky. You can see that I posted several such photos during last two weeks.

In December I started my first attempts of painting using PC paint program. Very soon I noticed that I like to fill the field with black and then to put the yellow circle close to the right upper corner.

Yesterday I posted the photo by Derek Kind “Full Moon Rising Over Mount Shasta”. Today I found that somebody from the terrific four people blog “The World According To Dina” liked this photo.

Then I remembered that one young man recently joined “The World According To Dina” and he liked some my posts before.

As all my followers are outstanding people I decided to find more about this young man.

I went to Wikipedia and found the following:

Klausbernd Vollmar, (born 22 November 1946) is a German scientific psychologist, specialized in the language of symbols, in dreamart and advertisement.

Vollmar was born in Remscheid, Germany. He studied German literaturelinguisticsphilosophy and geography at the Ruhr-University/Germany and the McGill University/Montreal. After his degrees he was awarded a research scholarship by the Canada Council at the McGill University.

He worked as editor in chief of different papers and magazines, as director (theatre and films) and for the Goethe-Institut (the international German culture institution) in Finland.

In the 1970s he returned to university to study psychology. He was a student of the countess Dr. Olga von Ungern-Sternberg (a direct student of C.G. Jung). He undertook anthropological studies in Asia and the Arctic, about which he wrote in his novel “Wasserberg” and his “Arctic Diary”.

Later he ran bookshops in Cologne, worked in the publication department of the Findhorn community, Scotland and was a member of an English Gurdjieff group.

Since the end of the 1980s he has lived on the Norfolk coast, writing mostly non-fiction books for international publishing houses and working for radio and television.

His main subject is the language of symbols, dreams and the impact of colour on our lives. Besides that he is known as a specialist for the Arctic. He published several articles about the concept of the north and the picture of the Inuit in literature and film.

His books are translated in 15 languages. Apart from the books about creativity and personal development he wrote the German standard encyclopedia of symbols in dreams and the first German encyclopedia of colour in history, art and printing.”

Aha! Here is the man who can answer my questions!

Surely, I went to see the last post on “The World According To Dina”.

Below is what I found:

BLACK, WHITE, GRAY

I found this post very interesting. It answered my questions.  It explained that yellow colour is female colour and the circle is a female form. It also explained that black is intellectual colour. “Black is fashionable!…Black is sexy!…Black is a lucky colour!”

Today is the Valentine’s Day. Let this post be my gift to you!

There is nothing else I can do!
