“Sit down next to me”

Every time I see a bench in a beautiful place I remember a popular Russian song 50 years ago “Sit down next to me”.

Some words from this song:

 Sit down next to me.

I have to tell you.

I can’t hide it anymore

That I love you!

The photo below is taken recently in the early morning and I doubt that many people talked about love so early. However, I hear words and music of the song in my heart and mind and remember how happy we were dancing at that music 50 years ago.

Sit down next to me.

I have to tell you this moment

That from our first meeting

Many years ago

You always were

Infinitely sweet and dear to me!

Quotes of Stanislav Lec

Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art.
An error becomes an error when born as truth.
Beyond each corner new directions lie in wait.
Perhaps God chose me to be an atheist?
Don`t allow the imposition of the liberty of speech before having the liberty of thought.
Be yourself. A horse without the lancer is still a horse; a lancer without the horse is just a man.
Even a word can be a gag.
Do I have no soul as punishment for not believing in the soul?
You have to decide even to hesitate.

Several Voltaire quotes.

Voltaire died in 1778. Please read his quotes and see if they are relevant today.

PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

From Wikipedia: “François-Marie Arouet …; 21 November 1694 – 30 May 1778), known by his nom de plume Voltaire…, was a French Enlightenment writer, historian and philosopher famous for his wit, his attacks on the established Catholic Church, and his advocacy of freedom of religionfreedom of expression, and separation of church and state. Voltaire was a versatile writer, producing works in almost every literary form, including plays, poems, novels, essays, and historical and scientific works. He wrote more than 20,000 letters and more than 2,000 books and pamphlets. He was an outspoken advocate, despite the risk this placed him in under the strict censorship laws of the time. As a satirical polemicist, he frequently made use of his works to criticize intolerance, religious dogma, and the French institutions of his day.”

Below are several Voltaire quotes I selected for your consideration.

Quotes about intelligence

There are posts in many blogs that everyone must read again and again.

It would be good if WordPress allowed bloggers to reblog their posts SEVERAL times!

I have about 700 posts on this blog. It is impractical to place links to them on pages.

Some important posts I already reblogged.

Today I want to introduce to you “Quotes about intelligence”.

Quotes to think about

People spend too much time finding other people to blame, too much energy finding excuses for not being what they are capable of being, and not enough energy putting themselves on the line, growing out of the past, and getting on with their lives.

J. Michael Straczynski

A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.

Nelson Mandela

If you’re trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I’ve had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Michael Jordan

I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences of every deed, word, and thought throughout our lifetime.

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

The way you see people is the way you treat them, and the way you treat them is what they become.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Conversation? Silent love? Work?

During one of my walks I saw a very nice couple.

After I walked 3 times around the block I could not resist any more.

I hid behind a tree and made a shot.

However, it was not necessary at all to hide.

They were so involved with what they were doing that they did not see anybody or anything else.

As I am not that young and I don’t have such gadgets I need your help.

What do you think they are doing?

Is it a new way of communication without words?

Is it strong silent love?

Are they working?

Please let me know!

Several quotes about intelligence.

I think it is a proper time to remind my followers and guests what they possibly forgot. Let’s grow in right directions!

PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

Character is higher than intellect. A great soul will be strong to live as well as think.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

An intelligent person is never afraid or ashamed to find errors in his understanding of things.

Bryant H. McGill

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

Albert Einstein

Action is the real measure of intelligence.

Napoleon Hill

There are no great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder.

Ronald Reagan

An intellectual is a man who takes more words than necessary to tell more than he knows.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

A value of one word.

There are many wonderful writers in the WordPress’ family.

Surely, I am not one of them.

I am a reader.

But for 80 years I learned that every word you say or write is very valuable.

I learned that it is possible to describe a real story using only 2-6 words.

To describe a fantasy I usually need more words.

Here are some examples:

He was.

He was hurt.

He was badly hurt.

He was hurt by her.

He was hurt by her rejection!

As you see there are five real stories above.

And below is an example of fantasy:

He was hurt by her rejection of his money!

I hope that from now on you will choose every word you say or write.

It is always good to hope!

Several quotes about words.

It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like “What about lunch?”

Winnie the Pooh

Silence is more eloquent than words.

Thomas Carlyle

Silence is also conversation.

Each player must accept the cards life deals him.
But once they are in hand, he alone must decide
how to play the cards in order to win the game.

If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
