I have found that Super Bowel commercials are really the only ones worth watching. At the price they pay per minute, I’d hope so.
Though this commercial is probably not very popular in other countries, it does have a good message that comes clear in one sentence: “It’s pretty simple, you work hard, create your own luck, and you got to believe that anything is possible.” That sentence sums up the idea of work in The American Dream.

Crazy talk, right? No. It’s actually sound advice.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about the life long commitment of a beautiful, healthy, transformative marriage but it’s never a death sentence, never was supposed to be an obligation you no longer enjoyed or questioned.
When you wake up in the morning ask yourself…
“Do I want to be married?”
“Do I want the job I have?”
“Do I like the life I live?”
“Do I want to be here, this stage of my life?”
ASK IMPORTANT QUESTIONS AND YOU’LL RECEIVE IMPORTANT ANSWERS.
If the answer is yes (and I hope it’s a yes) then you’ve recommitted yourself to something wonderful. Reinvest in that something wonderful with a fresh heart and open yourself to a new perspective.

I came to America in 1975 and became an American in 1980.
Half of my life I lived in the Soviet Union, another half – in America.
I worked in the Soviet Union as a manager and a scientist and I worked in the USA as a cutter, a clerk, an accountant, a broker, a programmer, a system analyst. I graduated from colleges in both countries (the Moscow Textile Academy and Queens College in NYC).
For forty years I hear and read that capitalism is bad and that America is a bad country. I saw all kinds of protesters. I heard a lot of journalists, professors and elected officials who believe that socialism and communism are better. .
Certainly, everybody has right to her/his opinion.
However, as I lived many years In the USSR and the USA it is easy for me to compare what is better.
Let’s look today at facts and make conclusions. Then we can continue to discuss the question in the title of this post.
Several years I am renting during winter an apartment in a condominium in Hollywood, Florida. My landlord is from Cuba. He is a large trucks driver.
He bought this apartment 7 years ago as an investment. He lives with his wife in their own very nice house near Miami.
The photo below shows a deck of the condominium and a beach below. I meet daily people on the deck who own apartments here and have apartments or houses in Chicago, New York and other places. All of these people are working or worked before retirement. They are (or were) teachers, programmers, doctors, nurses, engineers, professors, government employees, etc. Some of them have or had their own businesses.
You can see in the photo a building that is under construction.
Picture #2 gives you a better view of it. The building will be finished soon.
All apartments in it have the same design and the average cost of an apartment is
$1,000,000. The interesting fact is that all apartments are already sold out.
Now, there are hundreds of condominiums in Hollywood and thousands of houses that cost more than 1 million dollars. All of them have owners.
There are many cities all over America like Hollywood or even richer (like Naples in Florida).
How bad is America and how bad is capitalism if people who are working hard and have education can have wonderful apartments or houses, can travel, are free to choose their way and enjoy life?
I am proud that I am American!

During one of my walks I saw a very nice couple.
After I walked 3 times around the block I could not resist any more.
I hid behind a tree and made a shot.
However, it was not necessary at all to hide.
They were so involved with what they were doing that they did not see anybody or anything else.
As I am not that young and I don’t have such gadgets I need your help.
What do you think they are doing?
Is it a new way of communication without words?
Is it strong silent love?
Are they working?

I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
Nothing will work unless you do.
Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.
I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.
Until blacks and whites see each other as brother and sister, we will not have parity. It’s very clear.
I believe that every person is born with talent.
Not too long ago I published the post FROM WINTER TO SUMMER. Several months passed. We had wonderful time in Hollywood, Florida.
Now is time to move from summer to spring, from 84 degrees in Hollywood to 65 degrees in Queens, from palms to blooming magnolias, from our friends here to our family and friends in New York and New Jersey.
It takes only three hours to come from summer to spring and to enjoy wonders of New York City. In a week we can walk in the Central Park, we can go to the St. Patrick’s Cathedral, we can visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Life is wonderful! Enjoy it! Enjoy learning, enjoy work, enjoy meeting friends, walks, workouts, meditation, gaining wisdom!
Think and grow! It is never too late to become a better person, to understand your place in the world, to make your contribution to it!

I’m starting to judge success by the time I have for myself, the time I spend with family and friends. My priorities aren’t amending; they’re shifting.
Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Establish your priorities and go to work.
The answer to many of the domestic problems we face is not higher taxes and more spending. It is less waste, more results and greater freedom for the individual American to earn a rightful place in his own community – and for States and localities to address their own needs in their own ways, in the light of their own priorities.

Now, if you want happiness and a good life what do you need to do?
You need to learn and to learn and to learn. You need to learn what is good and what is bad. You need to learn about your family, about your community, about your country, about the world.
You must learn what is given in schools, you must learn some occupation, you must prepare yourself for work and then to start working. I don’t believe that an able person who does not work can have a happy or good life.
Here I want to stress that in my understanding work not necessarily brings money. A mother who cares about her child is working hard. Any person who works hard on improving himself or herself is working. Any person who cares for others or is a volunteer is working. Artists, composers, writers are working but their work is not necessarily appreciated at once or at all.
You must learn to love yourself and to love people. You must learn what is really important to you, what are your weaknesses and your strengths.
Learning is a process that should never stop. Learning yourself is a very important part of it. You need always remember that you are unique, that what is good for others might be not good for you.
It’s very important that you find good knowledgeable people who can help you. They might be parents or other relatives, siblings or friends, teachers, neighbors, community or religious leaders. You can also learn from good books, movies, all means of communication.
I believe that by 22-23 years of age you must get all basics that you need for building good life for yourself and for people you love or for people you will love.
